AFSCME Local 952

This is an early reminder that AFSCME Local 952 will hold its 2012 elections this spring.  Nominations will be open at our regular membership meeting on April 12th 2012 at 7:00 pm at District Council 48, 3427 W. St. Paul Ave. Milwaukee.  To be eligible to run a member must be in good standing for one year immediately preceding the election.

Labor 2010 Member to Member Walks are a great way to speak with other union members about the upcoming elections.  There are only two weekends left to get out there.  Walks are organized at the Milwaukee Area Labor Council 633 S. Hawley Rd.  This coming Saturday, October 23rd and next Saturday, October 30th from 9am to 1pm.  If you aren’t available for a walk, phone banking may be right for you.  To sign up for phone banking contact Peter Drummond.  For more information about what’s at stake this election click on the Labor 2010 image for the AFL-CIO Labor 2010 blog.

Our next local meeting is October 14th 2010 at 7:00pm.  Before the meeting we are going to host a phone bank starting at 5:00pm.  Phone banking is a great way to discuss the upcoming mid term elections with other Union members and promote labor friendly candidates.  Pizza and refreshments will be served during the phone bank.

AFSCME Local 952 officer elections are coming up. Nominations are at our regularly scheduled April meeting, with elections in May. If you know someone who is interested in running for an office, or are interested yourself please attend our next meeting.
